Blocking & setup
I installed the app. How do I turn blocking on?
Open The Blocker and follow its setup. On recent iOS versions, open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions and enable The Blocker’s content blocker. On iOS 17, Safari is directly in Settings. Check the Safari profiles you use, then return to the app and tap Test it.
See the step-by-step setup guide.
The blocking test fails, or a site still opens.
- Open the blocking test in Safari, not an in-app browser.
- Check the content blocker is enabled for your current Safari profile. Make sure content blockers have not been disabled for that website in Safari.
- In The Blocker, check that protection is on, your chosen category or site rule is enabled, and an allowlist entry or schedule is not allowing the site.
- Reload the page after applying changes. If needed, quit and reopen Safari, then test again.
A passing test confirms the blocker is active; no list covers every unwanted website. If a specific site is missing, add it to your custom rules. Email support if the problem continues.
Does it work in Chrome, other apps or every browser?
The Blocker applies website rules in Safari on iPhone and iPad. It does not filter Chrome, Firefox or all content inside other apps. Apple’s Screen Time controls can complement Safari protection; our setup guide explains the options.
Do I need the Stats extension to block websites?
The Safari content blocker provides blocking. The optional Stats extension adds local blocked-attempt counts and the challenge rescue page. Its hostname checks happen on your device. You can leave the content blocker on while disabling Stats, but those extra features will be unavailable.
Pro & purchases
I bought Pro, but it is not showing.
Use Restore Purchases in The Blocker’s Settings or purchase screen. Sign in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase and connect to the internet. If access is still missing, email support with your app and iOS versions and the plan you purchased. Do not send payment-card details.
How do I cancel a subscription or free trial?
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → The Blocker, then choose the cancellation option. Cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
See Apple’s cancellation instructions. A lifetime purchase is a one-time purchase and has no subscription renewal to cancel.
How can I request a refund?
For purchases billed by Apple, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides eligibility and processes the request. Read Apple’s refund guidance for the steps.
Where can I see the price and purchase terms?
The purchase screen and App Store show the current price, currency, billing period and any trial available to your Apple Account. Read our purchase and license information before buying.
